It probably didn't do well sales-wise, but don't let it fool you. It is possibly the best 40K game ever released.. It's a fun game with a good campaign story line. I wish the Exterminatus maps would not be only balanced for 4 players and dynamically balance down for smaller groups. Warning: The Dreadnought map is not coop as Steam says. They never fixed the error in the ad even when brought to Steam's attention.. Papa smurfs superdeduper marines are at it again. Great 40k games!. Why this game was never followed up on is beyond me. It probably didn't do well sales-wise, but don't let it fool you. It is possibly the best 40K game ever released.. (not native speaker here)While not being a AAA game, it's at least a AA game : the graphics are still clean for today (2019), the feeling of the gameplay is flawless while not revolutioning anything, the campagne is really enjoyable with cool cinematics while not being top notch. The multiplayer is really cool while being almost dead to this date (don't take DLC's, there is nobody to play them, but classics maps are still played and the Horde mode is fun as \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665). Seriously, it's a shame that Dawn Of War 3 failed that hard and Relic said they will focus from now on on Ages Of Empire 4 (still a good news tho) but we need a Space Marine 2 ! There are a lots of good Games Workshop video games, but they are for the vast majority little productions with meh to bad quality... Space Marine is for me the only game with DoW 1 close to a triple A in the GW universe. go for it, it cost nothing today and is enjoyable for what it is !. This game is alot of fun, plenty of action, slaying of heretics, etc. however the reason i give this a thumbs down is because its not worth $40, it took me 5 hours to complete and some people could prebably do it in less, this is one of those games id stick at $20 it has very little replay-ability and i feel its price is unjustified.. This game is a very nice surprise.Usually, Sega gameplay are somehow clumsy, but this one is a very good game, as it really translate very well the W40K universe, and its superstars, the space marines.You will play as one of them, the Captain Titus of teh Ultramarines.The campaign is very good, with a good narrative a lot of chapters (17), most of them playing flawlessly.The level design a quite linear, but it serves the purpose of focusing on the combat, and to this regard, it is a pure success. Combats are swift, violent and gory, with some nice executions hand to hands, depending on the weapon you have.The musics are also nice, as they feel epic, which only strengthen the unic atmosphere of the game.To date, I consider this game as the best experience I had with the W40K universe (better than Dawn of war, but it's also another type of game).I definitely recommend it!
